1) Netrani Island

Coastal Karnataka, as beautiful above as below the sea, with sweeping valleys and verdant forests, palm fringed backwaters and clear tropical waters. 2) GOA

  Plenty to see underwater if you feel the urge to go scuba diving. Most of the diving in Goa is near Grand Island,where divers can check out a handful of decent coral gardens filled with a healthy marine life population.


The Portuguese lost plenty of ships during their colonial days, and these fascinating sites are very accessible to divers. A little closer to Goa is Pigeon Island, known for its good visibility, and the popular shallow dive sites between Vengurla and Malvan, about two hours from the city.

3) Andaman & Nicobar

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands bring to mind images of solitary beaches fringed above by thick rainforest and below by abundant coral reef, images of British penal colonies and Japanese invasions, meandering mangrove-lined backwaters and the whispers of indigenous tribes still living lives of old. Amazing destinations both underwater and above, these islands are fast becoming a port of call to travelers from all parts of the world.

4) Lakshadweep

Diving centres here are geared to cater to beginners as well as offers CMAS and PADI courses by certified divers. They also offer underwater photography courses. Snorkeling is possible at specified locations.
